Veronique Renard

 

Veronique Renard was born to a business family in the Netherlands. At the age of 17 she transitioned from male to female and was at that time the youngest post-op transsexual in the world to be legally recognized as a female. She attained a Ph.D. in Dutch Literature in 1997. In the spring of 2000, Veronique moved to the hometown of the Dalai Lama in the Indian Himalayas to study Buddhism and live a semi-monastic lifestyle. In the fall of 2006, Veronique moved to Bangkok to carry out research for a new novel. Currently she is married to a Chinese Thai surgeon and has two children.
