Glenda Poulter

Writer, photographer, painter; hiker, fisher-person, bird-watcher; quilter, knitter, seamstress. Texas, Washington, Louisiana, Illinois, Nebraska, Alaska, South Carolina and finally North Carolina. Along with a more than interesting childhood and adolescence, Glenda’s diversity of interests and domiciles has given her plenty of material to write about.

A late bloomer in more ways than one, Glenda didn’t start taking her writing seriously until 2006, when her partner Lisa encouraged her to write a novel. The result was the semi-autobiographical Welcome Home (previously published as e-book, entitled Coming Home). Before then, Glenda’s writing consisted mostly of prolific journal entries. Glenda’s body of work now includes numerous short stories and poems, which can be found along with some of her photography and artwork at www.GlendaPoulter.com.

Glenda resides just outside Raleigh near the roaring metropolis of Lizard Lick, NC. Her partner Lisa continues to encourage her not only to write but also to indulge in her other creative endeavors. Glenda is Momma to four cats and Step-Momma to one Boston Terrier. Her two legged children live in North Texas. Her daughter, Kaycee, is a professional editor and works hard to make Glenda’s manuscripts presentable. Kaycee’s husband Robert is a loving, caring young man who is extremely patient with his mother-in-law. Glenda’s son Scott is active in his community and with his work. Glenda has not been blessed with grandchildren, but she has a slew of grand-animals from dogs to care, birds to snakes and tarantulas.
