It was winter in the Catskills, lots of snow, cabin fever, nothing on TV (except Xena: Warrior Princess and JAG) to grab her attention, and a computer of her very own. That’s what started Trish’s mind going in a new direction...writing fiction. She had written articles for professional journals in the past and thought she would give fiction a try. As an avid fan of mystery, spy and action/adventure novels, Trish decided that it might be fun to create her own characters, and transport them into her fantasy world. Trish wanted them to be strong females who were intelligent, fierce, could compete with their male counterparts on an equal standing, and still have some faults to make them human. Oh, and they had to fall in love with each other! This probably sounds all too familiar now, with the hundreds of incarnations of Xena and Gabrielle that are filling bookshelves, eBooks, and audio books around the world, but the Muse is still strong and Trish continues to write. One of her novels, The Visitors was nominated for Best Sci-Fi for 2005 by GCLS and Gaylatic Spectrum Award. Two of Trish’s short stories won awards in contests on The Academy of Bards website. Trish currently works for the New York State Education Department and resides outside of Albany, New York.
