Koda began her life growing up in the backwoods of Idaho. She gained her appreciation for nature and the environment by growing up in a logging family. A dream of hers is to eventually re-hike the PCT in which she writes about in The Path Taken. At separate times she has hiked parts of Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Montana and Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and Hawaii.
When the snow was too deep to play outside Koda would write stories with adventurous female characters that traveled the world and solved various challenges. She wrote her first story when she was five and has since dabbled. In the last few years she has started writing her dreams down and with the encouragement of her family and friends has sought to be published.
Koda enjoys donating not only money but herself to various charities.
She donated thirty-six inches of her hair to Locks
of Love Organization for cancer patients for the second time.
From the sales of her books that are published she donates to Debra,
for people born with extremely fragile skin.
You can often find Koda with pen and paper jotting down ideas for
her next story. When she’s not working or spending time with
her family, she enjoys writing, traveling, hiking, camping, and
being outdoors.
