Forces of Evil was my first attempt at writing fiction and seemed to flow easily from my mind to my fingers to the computer keys. It’s a story of two government agents who inadvertently wind up working together on the same case and manage to fall in love in the process. The backdrop for the story is the Catskill region of New York State and New York City. Many of the places are real since I incorporated my own “backyard” at the time into the book, however the names have been changed to protect the innocent. The book is plot driven with a good bit of “techno toys” thrown in for that “Jane Bond” feel. Forces wasn’t written with the intent to be published but merely as an escape into fantasy where the characters and I played nightly. I shared every chapter with my secretary and she gobbled them up crying for “more” when she came to the end of the pages. She loved the story so much she encouraged me to try to publish it. “Easier said than done,” said I, but I did look into the major publishing houses and thought I didn’t have a chance. My Internet savvy partner suggested I place my story on an Internet site and the next day a fledgling publishing company called to ask if I would consider allowing them to publish Forces of Evil. The rest is as they say is history. I hope you enjoy reading Forces of Evil and if you do (or don’t), send me an email with your comments to email@example.com.
